Hope and Faith Home for Special Children began as a quiet act of obedience and a firm refusal to accept neglect as destiny. From its earliest days the Home has stood for rescue, rehabilitation, reintegration, resocialization, and prevention. It was founded to reclaim children and adults living with disability who had been hidden away, chained, abandoned, or left to survive on the streets. Our Programs
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
- Through the therapy program twelve children have managed to walk and four integrated in special schools.
- There is greater sense of awareness and information through the workshops and seminars organized by the institution and other stakeholders
- With the support from the targeted community members, parents/guardians and well-wishers, it has been possible to establish a well-managed and operating center, where enrolled children are catered for individually and corporately.
- Through collaboration and networking with well-wisher, local institutions and donor agencies some children have received Aid devices to improve their performance and coordination i.e. Wheelchairs, hearing aids, crutches and therapeutic equipment’s.
AVAILABLE RESOURCES
- With partnership of Standard Chartered Credit risk department they bought ¼ of acre where we settled
- A Hope and faith home for special needs is endowed with various resources. We have permanent building in our own land which was bought by standard chartered bank members under credit risk department where we house our children.
- Through the partnership of OASA self-help organization we acquired 1/8 of land for institution expansion on the year 2019 where we are intending to establish resource center /school where we will offer all services required by person with special needs as per as they are concerned. The space is being used in farming some vegetables were also it as been o big use during the time of pandemic it helped our kid to do some activities.
- Through partnership of Safaricom Foundation, National Council Of Person With Disability they constructed two dormitory which are on use
- The human resource in the institution is able, willing, knowledgeable, understanding and capable. Some of our staff has served the children for more than five years; they have the children in their hearts and are ready to work for long hours without demanding much from the administration.
NEEDED RESOURCES
- Well-equipped therapy room and sensory integration room
- We require bathrooms and toilets
- Good laundry place ,washing machine
- Build a school/resource center
- Require good cabinet and wall drops in the dormitories
- We need more office equipment like computers and office furniture.
- First Aid box together with medical supplies such epileptic drugs which are quite expensive due to their frequency of need.
